A people-first initiative to recover plastic from our oceans and ocean-bound areas and empower coastal communities.
Plastic waste becomes "ocean-bound" when found within 50 km of water bodies and left unmanaged. These include:
MLP packaging
PET bottles
Nylon fishing nets
Once in the ocean, plastic turns into floating, suspended, or entangled debris, impacting coral reefs, marine life, and even human health.
Inspired by the mythological Samudra Manthan, this initiative sees plastic waste not as a burden but a resource to churn value from.
Key Learnings
The real problem is broken systems, not just plastic
Community participation is indispensable
Traceability builds credibility
Marine leakage starts inland
