In Episode 2 of Recykal Rise, we have with us Dr. Sameer Joshi, who works extensively on Plastic Waste Management, to speak on “Waste as a Resource”. He is a Member of various Environmental and Plastics Committees, Boards at both the State and Central levels. He is an advisor to Plastic Recycling Startups and a mentor to a Plastic Waste to fuel company.

In 2016, he was a Recipient of the ‘Paryavaran Gaurav Puraksar’ Award from the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board and Environment Club of India. Dr. Sameer Joshi was conferred the ‘Award for Outstanding contribution to plastic industry’  in July 2019 at Vigyaan Bhavan, New Delhi

He has many publications to his credit and has carried out his Ph.D. research in Critical analysis of various stakeholders in plastic waste management in Pune.

A couple of fun facts about Dr. Joshi – He is the Recipient of an autographed bat from one of the greatest cricketers of all time, Sir Ian Botham for contributing to plastic waste management and is also a Guinness World Record holder for the largest T-shirt made from plastic waste. A perfect example of using Waste as a resource.
